About the Artist

Growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, I enjoyed painting easy art projects as a hobby. It was not until my late 20's during a trip to Europe that I was exposed to fine art.   I was particularly intrigued by paintings from many of the great Impressionist artists -- fascinated by their expressive use of simple shapes, color, light and shadows.   

My medium is oil and, although I have no formal training, I  continue to challenge myself to learn and grow as an artist.  Painting for me is both an emotional and exhilarating journey as I try to fit together pieces of a painting, much like a puzzle, hoping to achieve a satisfying result that speaks to me, and, hopefully, to others.
